Greetings. Today we’re going to take a look at a line of Bacharach products designed for the analysis of refrigerants used in HVAC work. We will have a look first at the model on the lower end of the price spectrum and then show the more advanced model and see what that extra bang you get for the buck.

The entry level model available is the Bacharach Pur-Chek Advanced Refrigerant Identifier. This unit is designed to work with R12, R134A, R22, R410A, and various Hydrocarbons and uses Non-Dispersive Infrared (NDIR) detectors to analyze and report the purity of these respective refrigerants. It is a high accuracy analyzer that is ruggedly designed and super easy to use. The graphic display gives clear readouts and you can even upgrade the model to include an onboard printer for all-in-one testing/reporting.

Next up, the most advanced of this analyzer is the Bacharach Pur-Chek Pro Diagnostic Refrigerant Analyzer. Not only does this bad boy determine purity of the tested refrigerants with great accuracy, it can identify a bunch of refrigerant without any prior knowledge of their composition. This unit is out-of-the-box compatible with R12, R32, R408A, R409A, R417A, R421A, R421B, R422A, R422B, R422C, R427A, and hydrocarbons. This unit is resistant to any oil contamination, can take samples in liquid or vapor, and displays air (if present) as an element in the analysis. This unit also comes standard with the built-in printer. Finally, the Bacharach Pur-Chek Pro can “fingerprint” virgin refrigerants, which means that it will store their compositional data for comparison to further samples, effectively allowing you to create custom refrigerant blend profiles.

If you are in the market for a refrigerant analyzer, give the units a good look, they may be just what you are looking for. For more info and great sale prices, follow this link.

That’s it for now.
