Greetings all. It’s time to pay attention to the sometimes neglected subsection of Flir’s cameras – the bx series (Flir E40bx, Flir E50bx, Flir E60bx). What makes these different from the line not bearing a “bx” and what makes them new and interesting you ask? Well, first off, as I’ve mentioned before, cameras that are designed with building inspections in mind typically have three features unique to them versus a standard thermal imaging camera. These are reduced temperature range and increased sensitivity, allowing for detection of more minute differences in temperature, as well as moisture and insulation alarms to alert you to temperature differences characteristic of these problems.

Also, all Flir cameras now come loaded with MSX technology which uses an onboard digital camera to superimpose visible light details on thermal images in real time. This allows for a razor sharp image that will make showing customers problem areas and target location a snap.
