Today’s review will be on the Fieldpiece SC640 Digital Clamp Meter. Fieldpiece is one of the leaders in designing and releasing tools for the HVAC industry. In fact, they exclusively make testing equipment for the HVAC Industry. The Fieldpiece SC640 is a brand new meter from Fieldpiece and it complies with new UL Safety Standards that are coming out. What this means is you can no longer have the test leads and the thermocouple plugged in at the same time. This was done to safeguard against accidental electrocution to you, the user.
Fieldpiece SMAN360 3-Port Digital Manifold is no longer manufactured
Fieldpiece is never afraid to innovate and release products they feel will make a big splash in the HVAC industry. The SMAN360 is one of these innovations that will be welcomed I am sure. It is a redesign of the SMAN3 and it is jam packed with features.
First, the screen is large and displays all the measurements on screen at the same time in a crisp and clear manner. I really like the display on this unit and it has to be among the best in the industry.
The SMAN460 is the newest digital manifold on offer from Fieldpiece. There is not much this manifold can’t handle, that’s for sure.
The Fieldpiece SMAN460 can measure two temperatures and two pressures. With this information, the manifold can calculate Superheat, Subcool, Target Superheat, and Liquid / Vapor Saturation.
This is a follow up to the smash hit, must read blog of the summer, Fieldpiece CO Detector Accessory Head. All kidding aside, the ATIR3 IR Thermometer Accessory Head by Fieldpiece is a much simpler product that every HVAC technician worth his weight in refrigerant will use.
In my last installment I wrote about the Fieldpiece HS36 Stick Meter. This meter accepts the accessory heads that Fieldpiece makes to expand its meters to fit its customer’s specific needs. The ACM3 CO Detector Head (pictured at right) is a snap-on Accessory that adds the capability of measuring CO to your Fieldpiece Stick Meter.
When we last left off, I gave a small introduction to Fieldpiece and their philosophy regarding Multimeters in the HVAC world. Today we are going to discuss their HS36 TRMS Stick Meter. The Fieldpiece HS36 TRMS Stick Multimeter represents the top of the line Stick meter that Fieldpiece currently offers. For those unfamiliar with Stick style meters, this post should be a great introduction.
Fieldpiece Instruments is a California based manufacturer that produces professional-grade testing equipment with a specialty in the HVAC/R market. While most Multimeters are designed for laboratory work or for use by electricians, Fieldpiece wanted to create a meter that was specifically designed with HVAC technicians in mind. What they came up with was the Stick Digital Multimeter.
